In celebration of the beginning of Pride month, Jackson Heights hosted its 32nd annual Queens Pride parade Sunday.

Thousands gathered to celebrate this parade. Founded in 1993 by Daniel Dromm and Maritza Martinez, this parade is the second-oldest and biggest in all of New York City. It highlights the borough of Queens as a major hub for members of the LGBTQ+ and transgender communities.

The Queens Pride parade ran along 37th Avenue, from 89th Street to 75th Street. Numerous community members and leaders took part in the parade, including Queens Borough President Donovan Richards, Assemblymembers Jessica González-Rojas and Catalina Cruz, State Senator Jessica Ramos, grand marshals State Senator Leroy Comrie, Amber Ferrer and Billy Green and several local city council members.

The parade’s hosts: Carlos Basquiat, Jonte’ Moaning and Julius Caeser, along with headlining acts Antaeuz Y La Santa Luz, Arturo Mugler and Cyannie Lopez, entertained attendees throughout the day. Additionally, Cheer New York, Gotham Cheer and other groups performed for the thousands of attendees.
